Imminent Technologies
As New Zealand’s leading provider of mobile production technologies for the wine industry, Vintech Pacific has an extensive and ongoing program of research and service development. Through this program, we seek to ensure that the New Zealand wine industry, one of this country’s most important export revenue earners, enjoys access to the very latest production technologies and ideas. We then make these tools, along with highly skilled operators, available to all New Zealand wine producers, large or small, in every wine producing region of the country.
Central to our research and product development program are the strategic alliances we form with technology leaders overseas. For example, we have for several years, shared technologies, training and know-how with one of California’s leading wine technology providers, Wine Secrets, enabling both firms to
accelerate our experience and service development while increasing efficiencies for our respective client bases. Likewise, in Australia, Vintech Pacific has a long-standing relationship with VAF Memstar, leaders in innovative filtration solutions for the wine industry.
Furthermore, Vintech Pacific has recently formed an alliance with one of the leading names in the global wine industry, Spanish technology giant, Agrovin. As of 2019, Vintech Pacific will be exclusive New Zealand and Australia agent for Agrovin’s cutting-edge wine production technologies.Oxi-Out Dissolved Gas Management
Oxi-Out enables winemakers to accurately control and adjust the level of dissolved low molecular weight gasses such as oxygen, nitrogen and CO2 in wine at any stage of production. This technology, which utilizes the latest in semi-permeable membranes as molecular sieves and industry leading analysis equipment means that dissolved gasses can be managed during any transfer such as racking, bulk transportation or at bottling.
Oxi-Out is available now as a mobile service or can be purchased in a range of capacities.
FreeK+ Potassium Reduction
The FreeK+ System removes the desired quantity of potassium to guarantee total tartaric stability without altering the wine’s characteristics.
It is a fast and automatic process that does not add any foreign substances to the wine or must. The principle of the FreeK+ System is based on Cationic Exchange, which is the most efficient technique in removing K+.
Further, FreeK+ is so versatile, Anionic Exchange processes can also be achieved.
Vintech Pacific’s new FreeK+ benchtop laboratory can be used to demonstrate…
- Effective Reduction of Potassium & other metal cations.
- Tartaric Stability by Cationic Exchange.
- Acidification of Musts & Wines by Cationic Substitution.
- Sulphur and sulphide reduction by Anionic Substitution.
Resoul Aroma Capture
The Resoul system provides a practical and effective method to capture aromatic compounds during alcoholic fermentation and to store and reintroduce those aromas at a later stage, such as at bottling.
CO2 which is produced naturally during alcoholic fermentation is captured from the fermentation vessel and undergoes a two-stage refrigeration to very low temperature. This process condenses out the aromatic molecules into two fractions, the second more concentrated than the first.
Each litre of juice results in the recovery of approximately 0.3-0.5ml of aromas and alcohol. The first fraction is a liquid composed of aromas and ~20 percent alcohol. The second fraction yields another product with aromas and ~60 percent alcohol, all produced from gasses that have hitherto gone to waste.
Resoul is arriving in New Zealand soon.
Test Track Benchtop Laboratory
We will shortly introduce a new benchtop laboratory which will enable us to demonstrate an expanded range of reverse osmosis and ultrafiltration applications.
With Test-Track we can take a five-litre sample of your wine and show you exactly the results you can expect when employing either technology on a larger scale.
Furthermore, with alcohol adjustment or concentration, we can “sweet-spot” your wine; literally providing you with a range of treatment choices for your winemaking team to taste and evaluate, to achieve exactly the desired result.
Test Track demonstrates on your material…
- Must Concentration
- Wine Concentration
- Alcohol Adjustment
- Tannin/Polyphenol Adjustment
- Colour Enhancement in Reds and Whites
- Brett Reduction
- VA Reduction
