2021 marks our 23rd year of operation and ten years under the Vintech Pacific brand name. Technologies in the New Zealand wine industries have come a long way in that time.
From introducing Ozone Barrel Sanitation back in 1998, a service we still provide, to Crossflow Filtration, and most recently de-alcoholisation by Spinning Cone Column, we’ve been at the forefront of bringing the latest advances to New Zealand’s winemakers.
Vintage 2021 will see us continue this important work, trialling both Resoul Aroma Capture, and Perseo Utlrasound for colour extraction. Both these new technologies show promise to make significant impact on the choices winemakers have available to them and the products that can be created for an ever-changing global market.
Our FreeK+ ion transfer can be used to treat juice, adjusting pH to give optimal control over the organic chemistry of fermentation and vinification. What’s more, treating just ten percent of total volume of juice can remove sufficient potassium to render the entire volume of wine tartrate stable, without the need for cold stabilisation.
Like harvest 2020, we expect that this year’s vintage will see access to skilled labour be a significant challenge. It is worth noting that all Vintech Pacific’s services are door-to-door and come with skilled wine technicians to set-up, operate and clean-down, leaving you and your team free to concentrate on your work.
