Brett has been involved in the Hawke’s Bay wine industry since 1996, when he started out working in vineyards alongside his studies at Massey University. More opportunities opened-up with the introduction of wine courses at the Eastern Institute of Technology and so Brett moved his studies from Massey to EIT.
Then in 1998, he began started working in the vineyard for Matariki Wines, eventually moving through to the winery and covering all manner of roles. After nearly ten years with Matariki, Brett made the move to Vintech Pacific in 2008. Over the years, he has managed to get in overseas experience too, working two vintages in Australia.
Brett has engineering in his genes and loves seeing Vintech Pacific bring new technologies to the New Zealand winery arena – and being the one to get first touch of the machines.
